Do I need to do anything to prepare?
Before we arrive, it is best to have your countertops clear, and to remove anything that may be needed from the cabinets over the next few days.
How long does the process take?
A typical kitchen is finished in a 5-day process.
What is the process?
For a typical kitchen:
Day 1 - Pick up doors. (Doors are taken down and brought to our shop to be cleaned and sprayed.)
Day 2 - Masking/Cleaning. (The cabinet boxes will be cleaned then masked off. All cabinet openings will be fully covered limiting access until project completion. Along with the cabinet openings the countertops, walls, floors, and appliances will be masked off.)
Day 3 - Spraying. (The cabinet boxes will be sprayed with two coats of primer and then two coats of topcoat.)
Day 4 - Spraying. (The cabinet boxes will be sprayed with two coats of primer and then two coats of topcoat. When spraying is finished the masking will be removed.)
Day 5 - Install/Completion. (The cabinet doors will be brought back and installed.)
The cabinets should be cleaned two times a year.
Using a mild detergent (2 cups of water mixed with 1 tablespoon of dish soap.) and a microfiber cloth, wipe down the cabinets in small sections. When finished with a section use a second microfiber cloth dampened with clean water to remove any residue. Repeat this process across the entire kitchen.
Pay special attention to high traffic areas and the sections next to and above the stove. These areas build up grease more quickly and can be cleaned on a more frequent basis.
If there are any trouble areas with large grease build ups avoid over scrubbing, as it could harm the cabinet finish. An enzyme cleaner can be used in these areas to cut the grease. Bac-Out by Biokleen is a great option, safe for your cabinets.
Tips:
Avoid abrasive cleaners. Including magic erasers and powder cleaners.
Don’t be too aggressive, a light touch can go a long way in cleaning cabinets.
Limit moisture exposure. Wet dish rags or towels hanging on cabinets can cause damage and staining.
Spot clean any spills or grime that occur on the cabinets.
